The club meets at the Todd Energy Raceway in Waitara on the last Sunday of each month (wet or fine), with the odd exception. Details can be found on the Race Calendar.
Upcoming AGM - Positions Available
1) Race Secretary
KartSport Taranaki will not have a race secretary come 1 September 2017. We are seeking expressions of interest to fill this role from club members and their families.
Details of the current position are attached. If the entire role does not suit your abilities we are happy to negotiate these roles. Additionally we are prepared to offer some form of remuneration for this position.
2) Committee Role - Media Manager
The role of media manager requires a candidate who can attend monthly committee meetings and manage content on KartSport Taranaki’s various media channels:
- Radio Advertisements (liaison with NZME)
- Monthly Newsletter
The media manager will source content from club members (e.g. photography and race weekend reports) as well as prepare original content.
Approximate commitment of 2 hours per week.
If either of these sound like an opportunity you are interested in, please get in touch with a committee member immediately. Contact details for committee members can be found on the KartSport Taranaki website https://www.kartsporttaranaki.co.nz/about-our-club/our-committee/

Our race meetings are held on the last Sunday of every month at the Todd Energy Raceway, which is located at the end of Joll Street, Waitara, not far off State Highway 3. We have top-class and well-maintained facilities including a great café which is open on Club Days. Spectators are free, so if you’re interested, come along and have a look.
Karting is a great family sport, and caters to all ages (and abilities!) from the Cadet Class (ages 6 through to twelve) through to Senior classes (ages 15 and upwards). Here in Taranaki we hold a Winter and Summer Series (raced over four meetings each), together with one-off events such as annual Club Championships and Enduro races.
For the more serious competitor, you can progress to racing in out of province series (such as the Goldstar Series held at the Taranaki, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu and Wellington tracks) and the North Island and National Sprint Champs, held annually each year.
The KartSport New Zealand website http://www.kartsport.org.nz has some very useful detail on what karting is all about.
